The Coalition for Hemophilia B proudly offers the Gene Therapy Support Network, designed to empower and support patients dealing with Hemophilia B who are considering or undergoing gene therapy.
As gene therapy emerges as a revolutionary treatment with potential curative effects, it introduces not only hope but also complex emotional and psychosocial challenges. Recognizing the critical importance of emotional support and health literacy, CHB is committed to providing individuals with the guidance and support they need to navigate their treatment journey confidently.
The network offers a dual-structured support system that includes current gene therapy patients and those eligible for treatment. To address the emotional and psychological hurdles, CHB has developed a four-part approach:
Bi-monthly Gene Therapy Community Rap Sessions
Personalized One-on-One Counseling tailored to each participant
Couples and Career Counseling designed to navigate significant life transitions
Quarterly Published Reports offering expert insights and treatment updates
