Federal Funding and Hemophilia Treatment Centers
Dear Community members,
We know that many of you are concerned about the future of federal funding for Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) given the uncertainty surrounding recent policy changes. We want to reassure you that, as of now, HTCs continue to operate as usual, and patient care remains uninterrupted.
Our organization, along with other national and local advocacy groups, is actively monitoring the situation and working to ensure that the needs of the bleeding disorders community are heard at every level. We are in communication with key stakeholders and will provide updates as soon as we have clear information on any next steps.
Currently, there is no appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services. Once an appointment is made, we will work to engage directly with the new leadership to advocate for continued funding and access to care. At that time, we will provide actionable steps, including outreach opportunities and letters you can send to ensure our collective voices are heard.
We understand how unsettling these uncertainties can be, but please know that we are fully engaged in this fight. We will continue to keep you informed of any developments and will share ways for you to take action when the time comes.
Thank you for your patience and trust. We are in this together.
Best,
Kim Phelan
