Update from Dr. David Clark: Inhibitor Development in COVID-19

The inflammation caused by COVID-19 could  possibly cause hemophilia patients to develop inhibitors. Here’s an article from Hemophilia News Today that shows that it can produce acquired hemophilia A (AHA). Acquired hemophilia is very similar to having an inhibitor. Whether it is an inhibitor against a non-hemophilic person’s  own factor VIII or factor IX, or an inhibitor against infused factor in a hemophilia  patient, the immune system decides to develop antibodies against the  factor.
