Important Things to Know About the Debt Ceiling Bill

The bipartisan debt-ceiling bill has been signed into law, preventing the country from going into default and creating a pervasive national crisis. One of the important things to know is that the deal essentially preserves Medicaid and Medicare. This is important as many of our community members utilize and rely upon these government programs.

The deal also avoids most work requirements except regarding SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps). Exemptions will be available.]
