House Passes Build Back Better Act; Fight Now Moves to Senate

By Glenn Mones

By a slim margin, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed a sweeping $1.9 trillion social safety net expansion bill called the Build Back Better Act. The bill includes plans to expand numerous social service programs including a universal pre-K program, affordable housing, home care for seniors and many others. Additional provisions expand access to healthcare to those on Government programs including Medicaid and Medicare. However, the legislation now moves to the Senate where it may face significant opposition, forcing changes in the bill if it is to have any chance of passage.

We will continue to provide updates on this important subject as the fight continues.
